It was hotter than hell, on the south fork highway.
In the July sun, with nothing going my way.
A mist was rising, from the bottom creek.
It was as dry as a bone, it aint’ rained in weeks.

The moral to this story, is easily told.
Be careful what you’re wishing for,
When you ride, the Old Crow road.

The dust in the wind, made the crows fly.
When you pulled alongside, in a bright red Semi.
Eight track blasting out, ‘Playing to Win’.
You opened the door, and I climbed in.

I thought I’d seen that face before, in a dream somewhere.
With eyes to make a rich man poor, and a blind man stare.
